Job summary

Texas Health Plano seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Care Department on a PRN basis. You will review medical histories, assess patients, and apply evidence-based respiratory therapies.

The role requires RCP and RRT credentials, BCLS, and ACLS for ICU/ED, with NRP if NICU work is involved. Join a multidisciplinary team at a Level II Trauma Facility with opportunities for growth and continued education, in a Plano location serving North Texas with modern technology

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an AMA approved Respiratory Care Program.
• Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.
• RCP and RRT credentials required upon hire.
• BCLS required prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• ACLS required for ICU and ED within 90 days.
• NRP required if working in NICU within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Review available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from the patient or family.
• Evaluate each patient using age- and diagnosis-appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
• Apply appropriate patient care interventions according to protocol guidelines and priority of care.
• Demonstrate competence in age-appropriate patient assessment and customize care per age-specific needs.
