Job summary

Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231, is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the Respiratory Care department. This full-time role covers evenings with rotating weekends.

You will review patient records, perform age-appropriate assessments, apply treatments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Requires AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program, RCP/RRT on hire, BCLS; ACLS/NRP as applicable; 1 year Med/Surg or critical care preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program is required.
• CLIAFE regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required.
• 1 year Med/Surg or critical care experience preferred.
• RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner upon hire required.
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire required.
• BCLS required prior to independent patient care and quarterly.
• ACLS required ICU/ED within 90 days.
• NRP required if working in NICU (90 days).
• Good verbal communications and interpersonal skills; computer experience.

Responsibilities

• Review available medical records and obtain relevant medical history.
• Evaluate patients using age-appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
• Apply appropriate patient care interventions per protocol and priority of care.
• Demonstrate competence in age-appropriate patient assessment and individualized care.
• Use therapeutic techniques appropriate to patient age and treatment desires.
• Perform treatment procedures within the scope of practice.
