Job summary

AdventHealth in Orange City, FL is seeking a Chaplain to provide spiritual care to patients, families, and staff. This role collaborates with healthcare teams to integrate spiritual support into treatment plans and to conduct religious services and blessings as needed.

Bachelor’s degree in theology, spiritual care or pastoral ministry is required; Master’s is preferred. ACPE-accredited CPE units are required (1 unit; 2 preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in theology, spiritual care or pastoral ministry is required.
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum ACPE, Inc. accredited CPE units required (1 unit; 2 preferred).
• Ordained/Commissioned Minister preferred; multiple chaplaincy credentials may be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, provides, and documents pastoral care to patients, families, and staff.
• Provides spiritual care to the local ministry and community through prayer and blessings.
• Consults with patients and staff on ethical decision making and referrals as needed.
• Plans and coordinates the spiritual program with local ministries to ensure initiatives are executed.
• Facilitates spiritual support during crises and transitions for patients and families.
• Collaborates with healthcare teams to integrate spiritual care into treatment plans.
• Conducts religious services and ceremonies as needed.
• Maintains records of spiritual care activities and interventions.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings.
