AdventHealth in Palm Coast, FL is seeking a registered nurse to support acute patient care on a PRN basis. You will conduct assessments, document data, and implement individualized care plans while coordinating with physicians and staff to ensure safe admissions, transfers, and discharges.

The role emphasizes critical thinking, patient education, and adherence to regulatory standards. Requires RN licensure, BLS, and 2+ years in an acute hospital setting; TNCC preferred.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate high-level abstract reasoning for patient care planning.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate Windows-based programs.
• Fluent in English (read, verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates critical thinking appropriate to patient care level.
• Collects and documents patient health data systematically.
• Performs ongoing assessments and develops evidence-based plans of care.
• Implements interventions safely and documents actions.
• Collaborates for timely patient placement and handoffs.
• Participates in peer interviewing and review processes.
• Administers medications and treatments per prescribed orders.
• Educates patients and families on health conditions and care plans.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and policies.
• Assists in quality, safety and efficiency initiatives in nursing.
• Advocates for patients and ensures rights are respected.
• Ensures appropriate use of medical supplies and equipment.
• Follows PPE, hand hygiene, and safety regulations; performs other duties.
