Job summary

AdventHealth in Louisville, CO is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for PRN night shifts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in respiratory care, ventilator management, ABG acquisition, and patient assessment across neonate to geriatric populations.

The role requires CRT or RRT certification, BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS, with an Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy. Join a team dedicated to extending the healing ministry of Christ, while maintaining high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health care field and medical terminology
• Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems
• Ability to function in fast-paced environments and apply stress management techniques
• Ability to resolve issues and work independently within certification scope
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and professionalism
• Excellent reading, writing and spoken English
• Experience with computers and EMR systems
• Critical thinking and patient assessment skills
• Infection control
• Ability to document in EMR and use computer systems
• Airway management and mechanical ventilation knowledge
• Ability to provide respiratory support and manage ventilators
• Invasive and non-invasive ventilation experience
• ABG puncture and arterial cannulation skills
• Pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient care
• Preferred experience with EMR systems

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of techniques and treatment modalities for diverse age groups.
• Administers respiratory therapy and monitors treatment responses.
• Sets up and monitors ventilators and airway management.
• Performs ABG punctures and arterial cannulation.
• Ensures infection control and sterilization procedures.
• Documents patient data in the medical record after service.
• Provides teaching plans involving patient and family.
• Performs other duties as assigned
