Job summary

Northwest Florida Community Hospital seeks a skilled PRN Medical Technologist to join our Laboratory team. The role involves performing a broad range of tests, analyzing results, and maintaining instrument and LIS documentation to support quality patient care.

Requirements include an accredited MLS program degree and an active Florida license; ASCP/AMT is preferred. Prior hospital laboratory experience and strong communication are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
• Florida Medical Technologist license active and in good standing required.
• ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Previous hospital laboratory experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemistry, hematology, coagulation, immunology, microbiology, blood bank, and urinalysis tests.
• Analyze and verify patient test results for accuracy.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain instruments.
• Perform quality control and quality assurance procedures.
• Communicate critical values promptly per policy.
• Handle specimens and maintain LIS documentation.
• Assist with inventory management and supplies.
