Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a per-diem Medical Records Clerk for Vienna Correctional Center in Vienna, IL. The role focuses on maintaining offender health records, retrieving records for appointments, and initiating records for new intakes at the facility.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, prior medical records experience, and CPR/BLS certification. A RHIA/RHIT credential is preferred but not required, with security clearance and background checks required for employment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree
• Certification by the American Health Information Management Association as RHIA or RHIT preferred but not required
• Prior experience with medical records and services
• Completion of a medical terminology course preferred
• Must be CPR/BLS certified
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check

Responsibilities

• Maintains offender health records, retrieves health records for scheduled appointments, files offender health data, initiates records for new or transferred intakes.
• Reviews health records for completeness and prepares reports as needed
