Job summary

City of Hope in the Phoenix area is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for a PRN, as-needed M-F role covering Scottsdale and North Phoenix Outpatient Care Centers. The technician performs routine and complex tests, reports results within turnaround times, and handles equipment maintenance and quality control.

Requires Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences and ASCP or AMT certification (or eligibility within 18 months).

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences or related field from an accredited program.
• Certification required (ASCP or AMT) or eligible to take exam; certification must be completed within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests and report results within the expected turnaround time.
• Maintain equipment, calibration and quality control testing per procedures.
• Handle specimen transport, phlebotomy, and processing for in-house and reference testing.
• Answer calls and review pending logs; cover other Outpatient Clinics as needed.
