Job summary

Marathon Health in East Peoria, IL seeks an experienced Medical Assistant to join our care team. The MA collaborates with a primary care physician to deliver patient-centered care and an exceptional guest experience, acting as both receptionist and clinical support.

Responsibilities include vitals, phlebotomy, injections, rooming patients, and assisting with procedures, while coordinating with the care team to ensure timely, quality care delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of MA experience, preferably in primary care.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or related program.
• National or state MA certification/registration preferred; required where mandated.
• CPR/BLS certification required at start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients, maintain clean/stocked exam rooms and assist provider.
• Take vitals, draw blood, give injections, and assist with procedures.
• Prepare/administer medications and immunizations per provider order.
• Develop patient care plans with the care team and address gaps in care.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, records requests, referrals, and check-in/out.
• Document data accurately in medical records and communicate results.
• Engage patients through outreach and manage supplies/equipment.
