The general pay scale for this position at MOH is $16.25- $27.43 per hour. The actual hiring rate depends on factors such as prior work experience, education, responsibilities, location, and performance.

SCOPE:

Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and care, including exams and procedures. Performs clerical tasks such as answering phones and maintaining physicians' schedules. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
  • Record patient data prior to visits, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • Obtain necessary patient records for treatments or procedures.
  • Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
  • Assist physicians with exams and procedures.
  • Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated.
  • Maintain disinfection protocols for exam/treatment rooms.
  • Answer patient calls and refer to physicians or nurses as needed.
  • Handle prescriptions and patient communication as directed.
  • Notify physicians of reschedules and no-shows.
  • Perform administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, chart prep, and reception.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Entry level position requiring 0-3 years of experience.
  • Current BCLS certification within 3 months of hire.
  • State-specific certifications may be required.

Physical Demands: Ability to handle and lift patients, manual dexterity, standing and walking for extended periods, occasional lifting up to 40 lbs, normal vision and hearing.

Work Environment: Exposure to communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and other clinic conditions. Reasonable accommodations available.
