Job summary

Blue Ridge Health in Sylva, NC is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant/LPN to join our clinic team. This is an as-needed role with entry-level pay and opportunities to advance salary and career growth. Starting wage is $20.50 per hour.

A $500 sign-on bonus is offered after 90 days of employment. We provide a 403(b) retirement plan with company matching and support a collaborative, patient-centered work environment geared to ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical documentation preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification or Registered Medical Assistant preferred; must obtain within 18 months if not certified.
• Licensed Practical Nurses – NC licensure preferred (license renewal paid).
• Medical phone triage experience preferred.
• Ability to float between nearby clinical sites as needed.
• Bi-Lingual preferred; extra pay for language skills.

Responsibilities

• Working in a fast-paced medical office setting.
• Assisting providers with delivering quality patient care.
• Obtaining and recording vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.).
• Performing basic medical procedures such as blood draws and EKGs.
• Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens.
• Answering phones, responding to inquiries, and relaying information to providers.
• Adhering to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
• Contributing to a positive and cooperative team environment.
