Job summary

Blue Ridge Health is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant/LPN to join our Brevard, NC team. This entry‑level role offers $20.50 per hour with a $1,000 sign‑on bonus after 90 days and opportunities for salary and career advancement.

You will support the medical team with vital signs, basic procedures, lab specimen collection, patient communication, HIPAA compliance, and a collaborative, patient‑centered environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
• Medical Assistant Certification or RM A preferred; must obtain within 18 months if not certified.
• Licensed Practical Nurses – NC licensure preferred (we pay for renewal).
• Medical phone triage experience preferred.
• Ability to float between nearby clinical sites as needed.
• Bilingual preferred; extra pay for language skills.

Responsibilities

• Working in a fast-paced medical office setting.
• Assisting providers with delivering quality patient care.
• Obtaining and recording vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.).
• Performing basic medical procedures such as blood draws and EKGs.
• Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens.
• Answering phones, responding to inquiries, and relaying information to providers.
• Adhering to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
• Contributing to a positive and cooperative team environment.

What You'll Do:

As a Medical Assistant or LPN you will be an integral member of the BRH medical team assisting with the direct care of patients and clinic activities. We are looking for a team player that can help build a positive environment with a desire to work in an interdisciplinary healthcare team and with a culturally diverse patient population. Responsibilities include:

• Working in a fast-paced medical office setting
• Assisting providers with delivering quality patient care
• Obtaining and recording vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.)
• Performing basic medical procedures such as blood draws and EKGs

What We're Looking For:

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medical documentation preferred
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
• Medical Assistant Certification or Registered Medical Assistant preferred– Must obtain certification within 18 months of hire date if not currently certified (We can help you get it – ask us how!)
• Licensed Practical Nurses – NC licensure preferred (we will pay for your license renewal!)
• Medical phone triage experience preferred
• Ability to float between nearby clinical sites as needed
• Bi-Lingual (preferred, but not required – we pay extra per hour for your language skills)
