Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical/Surgical care in Allen Hospital on a PRN basis. The RN will perform assessments, develop care plans, administer medications, and coordinate patient discharge with interdisciplinary teams while upholding the ministry's mission and quality standards.

Requirements include an active RN license in the state or compact, BLS, and at least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state where working or held via compact (NLC)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire; must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
• RN-BC (preferred) or other recognized nursing certifications (optional)
• NIH Stroke Certification (preferred)
• One year RN experience required; six months RN experience in acute care preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, set goals and strategies for discharge or continuing care.
• Perform and document complete patient assessments; maintain current nursing care plans.
• Provide patient teaching and coordinate care across hospital departments; administer medications safely.
• Act as patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement efforts; collaborate with spiritual, palliative, and ethics teams.
