Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for mammography procedures across outpatient sites. The role requires independent judgment, strong safety practices with radioactive materials, and proficiency in mammography views and compression.

Qualifications include ARRT certification, MQSA mammography training, and CPR/BLS. The candidate will document patient history, ensure proper coding, and participate in QC procedures. This is a PRN schedule with a pay rate of $37.77 per hour.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Completion of MQSA mammography training or MQSA preparation.
• Must obtain Mammography registration within 12 months of hire.
• CPR or BLS required per AHA standards within 30 days of hire.
• Act 31/33/34 and FBI clearance with renewal when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography procedures with proper breast compression, positioning and special views to maximize diagnostic quality.
• Identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol; document history and orders.
• Maintain strong radioactive material safety practices across procedures.
• Ensure exams are properly coded in RIS and linked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation.
• Assist with invasive breast imaging procedures including ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, clip placement and wire localization.
• Perform equipment quality control using radioactive sources and verify results meet standards.
• May administer IV or PO contrast and assess patient risk before administration.
