Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in mammography to perform breast imaging with high regard for patient safety and comfort. The role includes coding exams, maintaining RIS/ISITE connections, and assisting with ultrasound-guided procedures.

MQSA training completion and ARRT certification are required, with Mammography registration due within 12 months of hire. Candidates should be proficient in breast positioning, compression, and patient communication, and may perform

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Completion of approved Mammography Training Course in MQSA preparation.
• Must obtain Mammography registration within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform correlative breast examinations and document findings.
• Identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocols.
• Perform mammography with proper compression and positioning.
• Assist with invasive breast imaging procedures (ultrasound, stereo-tactic biopsy, etc.).
• Code and track exams in RIS and network to ISITE for archiving.
• Ensure equipment QC and safe handling of radioactive sources.
• Administer venipuncture and contrast per policy.
• Provide patient instruction and address fears during procedures.
