Arc Human Services is hiring a PRN Job Coach!

We have three casual positions (PRN) covering the Washington County region. Hours vary, but we generally have hours available Monday-Friday between 8‑4 pm. There may be a need for evening/weekend depending on client placement. As these positions are within our Employment Program, the hours will depend on the client’s schedules.

Summary

A position as a Job Coach involves supporting people with disabilities to learn, accommodate, and perform their work duties in their place of employment. A Job Coach may work with individuals one‑on‑one and/or in a small group setting. A Job Coach also helps individuals develop the interpersonal skills necessary in the workplace. The Job Coach will assess the individual’s strengths and needs or may rely on a completed assessment. A Job Coach may visit the place of employment to understand the job requirements and work environment. This position works with an individual both inside and outside the workplace, as it is important to assist and prepare the individual for the workplace in advance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED along with 1‑year prior experience working with children or adults with an intellectual or developmental disability, including training in home/community‑based and/or vocational settings is required. Previous work experience in industry or rehabilitation is preferred (e.g., office work, manufacturing, restaurant work, grocery store work, etc.).
• Work experience may be volunteer work or internships.
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program participants, families, staff, and employers.

Certifications/Licenses And Registrations

• Must successfully complete and maintain all state and federal employment certifications such as the mandated Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) or Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) within the first 6 months of employment.
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License with a clean driving record for the past three years and proof of automobile insurance. Child Abuse and Criminal Clearances, FBI check, completed physical with a T.B. Mantoux Test.
