Job summary

Oceans Healthcare is seeking a PRN Intake/Admissions RN to support the Behavioral Health Center in Norman, OK. The role includes responding to inquiry calls, initiating intake assessments, and coordinating admissions in line with Joint Commission and state regulations.

The Intake Clinician will refer patients appropriately, coordinate pre-certification, and document UR information, ensuring respectful, patient-centered service across shifts.

• Responds to inquiry calls and coordinates intake activities.
• Conducts initial assessments and triage.
• Refers patients to appropriate resources when not suitable for the program.

Responsibilities

• Responds to inquiry calls, completes inquiry forms and schedules assessments; documents follow-up.
• Conducts assessments at facility or other locations and completes initial triage.
• Refers patients not appropriate for facility programs to suitable resources.
• Coordinates pre-certification and admissions processes, including forms and UR information.
• Delivers patient services respectfully to promote dignity and satisfaction.
• Identifies safety needs and reports abuse/neglect to clinical staff.
• Identifies mobility/equipment needs of patients.
• Assesses age and disability needs to determine level of care and referrals.
• Communicates with patients and families considering age, disability, and cultural needs; involves families as appropriate.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
