UVA Health – Behavioral Health Prince William in Manassas, VA, seeks a PRN Inpatient Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to join the BHIP unit at Prince William Medical Center. This role supports inpatient care with strong administrative and clinical backing in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Primary location is Prince William Medical Center with remote coverage for Haymarket and Culpeper Medical Centers. Expect 7 on/7 off schedule, day shifts 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on-site, and a comprehensive

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program.
• Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry.
• Active Virginia medical license (or eligibility).
• Current DEA license.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care on the Behavioral Health Inpatient (BHIP) unit.
• Manage an average daily census of 8–12 patients (on-site and remote).
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management.
• Provide consultative services within scope of practice as requested.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Deliver care in accordance with all regulatory, accreditation, and clinical standards.
• Support continuity of care and patient needs during transitions.

Education

MD/DO from an accredited medical school

Psychiatry residency

Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry
