UVA Health - Behavioral Health Prince William is seeking a PRN Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our hospital-based BHIP service at Prince William Medical Center in Manassas. The role includes day shifts with seven-on/seven-off coverage and remote support for select centers.

Qualified candidates hold an MD or DO from an accredited medical school with completion of an accredited psychiatry residency, and will contribute to high-quality patient care within a collaborative, supportive team environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care on the Behavioral Health Inpatient (BHIP) unit.
• Manage an average daily census of 8–12 patients (on-site and remote).
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management.
• Provide consultative services within scope of practice as requested.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Deliver care in accordance with all regulatory, accreditation, and clinical standards.
• Support continuity of care and patient needs during transitions.

Position Overview:

UVA Health is seeking a PRN Inpatient Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to join our Behavioral Health team at Prince William Medical Center. This role is a key part of our inpatient behavioral health service line, providing high-quality psychiatric care to a diverse patient population while supporting expanded access to mental health services across the region.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment with strong administrative and clinical support.

Practice Highlights:

• Hospital-based inpatient psychiatry role
