Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school is required.
• Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry is required.
• Active Virginia medical license or eligibility is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of training or practice in psychiatry.
• Inpatient psychiatry experience is preferred.
• Must meet credentialing requirements for medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care to adult and adolescent patients with mental health and substance use disorders.
• Conduct admission evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Lead multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure coordinated care.
• Manage patient care, including medication management and progress evaluations.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and clinical support staff.
• Document patient care, treatment plans, and clinical updates.
