Job summary

Corewell Health's Royal Oak Hospital outpatient pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Technician (Casual/PRN) to support dispensing and patient services under pharmacist supervision. Rotation through IV admixture and unit dose services may occur, with potential shifts to OR Pharmacy and outpatient locations.

You will enter demographic and prescription data, process orders, and assist in cashiering and drive-through operations. Training duties and safety practices are part of daily work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience and/or ASHP accredited technician training program preferred.
• MI Pharmacy Technician license required on hire.
• MI Pharmacist Intern license required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Fills medication orders including oral, injectable, topical and IV admixtures.
• Enters patient demographics and prescriptions into the pharmacy information system; handles and processes claims.
• Processes prescriptions, retrieves medications, fills and labels; attaches notifications.
• Distributes prepared medications to patient care areas and departments.
• Assists in training of new staff and provides IT support as needed.
• Maintains a safe and organized work area.
