Job summary

Intermountain Health Cassia Regional Hospital is seeking a PRN Cook to cover vacant shifts across weekdays and weekends, including holidays as needed. The role involves a variety of food production duties under general supervision and requires basic cooking skills with adherence to food safety practices.

Position offers flexible PRN hours, with up to 40 hours per week and training during the first 60 days averaging 30–36 hours weekly. Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of cooking experience strongly preferred.
• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work in Idaho/Utah.
• Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Use safe food handling techniques in all applications.
• Understands workflow, prioritizes, and meets deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food, serve customers, and complete other duties as assigned.
• Follow recipes and instructions for food preparation.
• May prepare bulk items, large-scale production, or cater to special meals.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen workspace.
• Rotate inventory to ensure freshness and safety.
• Interact with customers in catering, retail, or patient meals.
