Job summary

UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida seeks a Chaplain to provide spiritual care to patients, families, and the healthcare team, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary staff.

Required: M.Div. or D.Min. from an ATS seminary; 1 year chaplaincy experience; ordained or commissioned with ecclesiastical endorsement. Preferred: 4 units of certified CPE; board certification or eligibility within 2 years. Schedule includes FTE 0.10 (PRN) with variable hours and days.

Qualifications

• Master of Divinity or Doctor of Ministry from an ATS seminary is required.
• 4 units of certified CPE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care to patients, families, and others in consultation with the health care team.
• Must be proficient in the use of computers and able to chart patient visits.

Qualifications

Education

Required: Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) or Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) from an Association of Theological Schools (ATS) seminary

Preferred: 4 units of certified Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)

Experience

Required:1 year chaplaincy experience, ordained or commissioned with ecclesiastical endorsement from a recognized faith group, board certified or eligible within 2 years.

Preferred:

• Ordained clergy with appropriate education, 1 unit of CPE.
• 3 years of specialized pastoral experience, and ecclesiastical endorsement from a recognized faith group will be considered for PRN positions on an as needed basis.
