Job summary

AccentCare Inc. in Madison Heights, MI is seeking a Hospice Visit Physician to provide compassionate hospice/palliative care through in-person visits. You will evaluate eligibility, manage symptoms, and support patients and families in goals-of-care discussions.

This PRN, in-person role requires an MD/DO with active MI license, a DEA license, and strong communication. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in on-call coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) in the state of practice.
• Experience in caring for chronically or terminally ill patients preferred.
• Strong communication and ethical decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients for pain, symptom management, and hospice eligibility (admissions and recertifications).
• Counsel patients and families on care options and advance care planning.
• Order tests, initiate treatment, and conduct face-to-face visits as needed.
• Serve as Attending Physician when appropriate.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and communicate with attending physicians.
• Manage patient medications.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 availability when assigned.
• Complete timely and compliant clinical documentation.
