Job summary

St. Joseph Hospice in Hattiesburg, MS is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to assess patients, develop and implement a Hospice Plan of Care, and educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and Hospice philosophy.

This on-site role emphasizes compassionate care, strong time management, and collaboration with physicians and the hospice team. The position offers part-time scheduling with ESOP participation, company stock at no cost to you, and competitive pay with opportunities

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required in State of Mississippi
• Minimum of two (2) years full-time experience as an RN in oncology, acute care, long-term care, hospice or home health care; two years in hospice as an LPN may substitute
• Current CPR certification required
• Current automobile insurance and valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of EMR required
• Previous Hospice experience preferred
• Compassionate RN with great time management skills

Responsibilities

• Performs the initial and on-going assessment of the patient
• Assist in developing and implementing the Hospice Plan of Care
• Educate patient and family on Plan of Care, including medication administration, dressing changes, oxygen administration, Hospice philosophy and care of the terminally ill patient
• Act as primary liaison between physician, patient/family and hospice team
• Maintain an accurate and updated medical record
• Makes routine supervisory visits
• Participates in agency on-call schedule
• Abide by company policies and procedures, compliance guidelines, applicable laws, and regulations promptly reporting any suspected violation of compliance standards
