Job summary

Gastroenterology Health Partners in New Albany, IN is seeking a PRN Histology Technician to support the preparation of GI surgical specimens for microscopic examination. The role focuses on precise specimen handling, histological processing, and maintaining a compliant, organized lab environment.

You will perform grossing and dissection, processing, embedding, cutting, staining, and ensure HIPAA compliance while collaborating with physicians and medical assistants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Natural Science or a related field.
• ASCP HT or HTL certification.
• Experience handling gross tissue specimens and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen grossing and dissection.
• Prepare body tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
• Perform histological procedures, including: Processing, Embedding, Cutting, Staining.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Monitor and organize laboratory supplies.
• Perform clerical and administrative duties, including filing and emailing reports.
• Maintain patient and employer confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, and fellow team members to support efficient laboratory operations.
