Job summary

One GI, LLC in New Albany, IN is seeking a detail-oriented PRN Histology Technician to assist in preparing GI surgical specimens for microscopic evaluation. The role emphasizes precise specimen handling, histological processing, and maintaining a clean, compliant lab environment.

Responsibilities include grossing, embedding, cutting, and staining, with a focus on accuracy and teamwork. After-hours and weekend availability is required to cover PTO and vacations in a collaborative laboratory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science or related field.
• ASCP HT or HTL certification required.

Responsibilities

• Grossing and dissecting specimens for microscopic examination.
• Prepare body tissue specimens for processing and embedding.
• Perform trimming, embedding, sectioning, and staining procedures.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-organized lab environment.
• Handle patient data with HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with physicians and assistants to support lab operations.
