Job summary

BEACON BEHAVIORAL SUPPORT SERVICES in Baton Rouge seeks a PRN Driver to transport clients and program materials for the Intensive Outpatient Program. You will ensure timely pickups and drop-offs, maintain vehicle safety, and represent the organization professionally with clients and staff.

The role requires a clean driving record, the ability to pass background checks, and strong local knowledge. CPR/First Aid and GPS familiarity are a plus; prior healthcare transport experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; minimum age 25.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
• Experience safely operating passenger vehicles, preferably in a professional or commercial setting.
• Strong knowledge of Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.
• Preferred: Chauffeur’s License or equivalent certification.
• Experience in healthcare or social service transportation roles.
• Basic vehicle maintenance skills.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Familiarity with scheduling software or GPS navigation systems.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport clients and program materials to and from designated locations according to scheduled routes and times.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation laws and organizational safety policies at all times.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections, including checking fuel, oil, tires, and other essential systems, and report any mechanical issues or damages immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle interior and exterior to provide a comfortable and professional environment for passengers.
• Communicate effectively with program staff and clients to coordinate pick-up and drop-off times, address any transportation concerns, and provide courteous service.
