Job summary

CommuniCare Health is seeking a PRN Attending Physician to provide care at our Fayetteville and Beckley, West Virginia practices, totaling about 15–20 hours per month in a post-acute and long-term care setting.

MD or DO license and ABMS Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Geriatrics or Hospice/Palliative are required, with gerontology certification preferred and 5+ years in geriatric care. EMR knowledge is expected.

Qualifications

• MD or DO license in State of Ohio
• ABMS Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Geriatrics or Hospice/Palliative
• Gerontology certification preferred
• 5+ years of experience working with geriatric or long-term care population
• Demonstrated experience working with and educating NP's

Responsibilities

• Assume administrative authority over medical services, policies and procedures in compliance with regulations
• Coordinate medical care, including emergency treatment procedures; maintain liaison with attending physicians
• Implement methods to maintain quality of care in post-acute and long-term care settings
• Provide physician services for residents in skilled nursing facilities and clinic environments

Education

MD or DO license in State of Ohio

ABMS Board Certified in: Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Geriatrics or Hospice/ Palliative

Gerontology certification preferred

5+ years of experience with geriatric or long-term care population

Demonstrated experience educating NP's
