Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Brunswick Family Health Center in Brunswick, OH is seeking a dedicated RN for the Emergency Department in a PRN capacity. You will provide compassionate, high-quality patient care, support treatment plans, and collaborate with a skilled ED team within a world‑renowned health system.

Ideal candidates hold an ADN or BSN, active RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications within one year, with two years of ED‑relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN).
  • Current state RN licensure.
  • BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
  • External candidates: two years of nursing experience.
  • ACLS and PALS certification required within one year.
  • TNCC/ENPC may be required for ED roles.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor and document patient conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

As RN in the Emergency Department (ED), you will help patients feel comfortable, at ease and supported while receiving treatment. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life‑saving treatment. A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
  • External candidates: two years of recent related nursing experience
  • Internal candidates with less than two years of experience, but are post‑orientation/90‑day probationary period, may be considered with CNO level review and approval
  • Licensed military RN experience will be considered
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (required within one year of employment)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (required within one year of employment)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
  • Trauma experience
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $43.00

Maximum hourly: $43.00
