Job summary

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital in Miami, FL is seeking a PRN Endoscopy RN to join our team. This role involves evaluating patients pre- and post-procedure, educating families, preparing patients (IV therapy, medications, site verification), and collaborating with surgeons, technologists, and providers to ensure safe, efficient care.

The RN will participate in universal protocols, maintain patient safety, and support continuous improvement in the perioperative environment.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN licensed to practice in Florida.
• Endoscopy experience preferred; patient care and perioperative support.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about procedures and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, and debriefing.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies and maintain high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Work within a dynamic interdisciplinary team to support safety and workflow.
