Job summary

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is seeking an RN Endo GI (PRN) in Gainesville, FL. You will assess patients before surgery, educate families, and ensure preoperative care including IV therapy and medications. You will work within a dynamic operating room team to uphold safety and quality of care.

The position requires ACLS and BLS within 30 days, RN licensure, and at least 1 year of RN experience. On-call and alternating scheduling support the role, with a focus on patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN license in good standing (RN)
• 1 year RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about the procedure and perioperative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Assist with surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Respond to patient emergencies with timely actions.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons, and surgical staff as part of the team.
• Document patient condition and care provided accurately.
• Educate patients and families about post-operative care and follow-up.
