Job summary

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville, FL is seeking an Endoscopy RN to support credentialed physicians during endoscopic procedures and to diagnose, care for, and treat patients. You will work with a phenomenal team that values family-like collaboration and patient-centered care.

You will participate in pre- and post-procedure care, prepare endoscopy suites, monitor sedation and medications, educate patients, and help ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Florida RN license (multistate OK) required; must obtain Florida license within 60 days if relocating.
• BLS and ACLS certification required within 30 days of start.
• Acute care experience required; endoscopy experience preferred.
• CGRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist credentialed physicians in endoscopic procedures.
• Prepare and equip endoscopy suites for indicated procedures.
• Follow established protocol for scheduling patients in the OR module for each procedure.
• Educate patients regarding the procedure, provide comfort and support before procedure.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and follow moderate sedation policy and procedure.
• Monitor medications used during procedures and patient status.
• Identify potential and actual complications related to endoscopic procedures.
• Evaluate and document patient response and changes in status.
• Support and maintain an environment supportive of quality patient care.

In this role you will:

• Demonstrate knowledge and application of the nursing process in theperi-operativesetting.
• Prepare and equip endoscopy suites forindicatedprocedure.
• Followestablishedprotocol for scheduling patients in the OR module for each procedure.
• Educate patientsregardingprocedure,providescomfort and support forpatient, and preparespatientforindicatedprocedure.
• Demonstrateknowledge of and ability to follow moderate sedation policy and procedure.
• Knowledge of medications used during procedures and ability tomonitorpatient status.

Job Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Nursingor Diploma in Nursing Required,
• Bachelor Degree in Nursingpreferred
• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN licenserequired. Compact license holders have60 daysto obtain the Florida license after relocation.
• BLS-AHA Provider issued cardrequiredwithin30 daysof start
• ACLS-American Heart Association ACLS Provider issued cardrequired
• Acute care experiencerequired.
• Previousendoscopy experience preferred.
