Job summary

HCA Florida University Hospital is seeking a PRN Endoscopy RN to join a leading healthcare network. The role includes evaluating patients pre-surgery, educating families, and preparing patients with IV therapy and medications.

You will participate in universal protocols and remain part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and high-quality care. Required qualifications include RN Diploma and certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS within 30 days of start.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications required within 30 days of start date.
• Endoscopy nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, timeout, debriefing, and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices and continuous improvement.
• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team including providers, surgeons, and surgical technologists.
• Consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe nursing care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout shift, and document changes thoroughly.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment and follow-up.
