Job summary

Methodist Hospital Stone Oak is seeking an Echo Technician PRN to perform physician-ordered echocardiograms and related non-invasive cardiac exams under the Non-Invasive Cardiology Manager. The role requires ARDMS or CCI registry eligibility and ongoing credentialing.

Qualifications

• Education options include Associate’s Degree with one year full-time ultrasound experience or ARDMS/RCS eligibility.
• Graduate of CAAHEP accredited diagnostic medical sonography or vascular technology program (RCS/ARDMS eligibility).
• Bachelor’s degree with six months ultrasound/vascular experience (RCS eligibility).
• Bachelor’s in sonography/vascular tech (ARDMS eligibility).
• Current Registry: RCS or RCCS or RVS (ARDMS eligibility).
• New hires must obtain registries within 12–24 months depending on program accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Acquire physician orders and prioritize STAT exams.
• Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance.
• Perform echocardiograms including 2-D, M-mode, Doppler and TEEs; document results.
• Assist with tilt-table testing and head-up tilt procedures.
• Capture carotid images with Doppler; provide measurements for evaluation.
• Maintain all patient reports and charge entries per policy.
• Perform high-level disinfection per guidelines.
