Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital in Charleston, SC is seeking a skilled Echo Technologist to join the Heart & Vascular team as a PRN. The Echo Technologist performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures and collaborates with cardiologists and nursing staff to deliver high-quality imaging and patient-centered care.

The role requires RDCS or RCS credentials and BLS, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and education for patients undergoing testing.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent cardiovascular ultrasound training.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound imaging principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) according to established protocols
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation
• Evaluate image quality and make necessary adjustments to optimize studies
• Accurately document examination findings and complete required records
• Prepare patients for procedures and provide education regarding testing
• Recognize and communicate critical findings to the appropriate healthcare team members
• Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with quality assurance standards
• Support accreditation and regulatory requirements
• Demonstrate commitment to patient safety, satisfaction, and exceptional service
