Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PRN, day-shift role. You will collect and document patient data, assess needs, implement care plans, and collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure safe, evidence-based care.

Licensure as an RN and BLS are required, with TNCC preferred. You will work in a high-demand hospital environment, following CDC isolation guidelines, documenting handoffs, and advocating for patient rights.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes.
• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft Windows based programs.
• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills)

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates critical thinking skills appropriate to patient’s level of care.
• Collects and documents patient health data systematically and timely.
• Conducts ongoing assessments of patients and develops individualized plans of care to optimize outcomes.
• Implements interventions from the plan of care safely and timely, documenting actions taken.
• Collaborates with team to promote timely patient placement and transfers.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed while ensuring safety.
• Educates patients and families on health conditions and care plans.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
• Participates in quality, safety, and efficiency initiatives in nursing practice.
