Qualifications

• Must have completed a recognized nursing assistant course or an accredited nursing program with skills lab or clinical rotation.
• Enroll in a CNA training program within 45 days and complete within 90 days of hire.
• Option to have 12 months of nursing assistant experience in acute care, nursing home, home care or long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Performs delegated direct patient care tasks under RN supervision.
• Ensures patient safety and adherence to fall prevention and use of restraints when required.
• Performs treatments such as urinary catheter care, enemas, sitz baths, compresses and assists with ambulation.
• May retrieve and transport medications.
