Job summary

HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital in Tampa, FL is seeking a Florida-licensed CT Technologist (PRN) to perform CT exams and X-ray under radiologist direction, supporting our free-standing ER and possibly main campus locations.

The role requires ARRT CT, Florida CRT, BLS, and ability to handle patient positioning, contrast administration, and on-call duties. Join our team focused on patient care and high-quality imaging.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Radiologic Technology program at an accredited, AMA-approved institution.
• Valid ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications.
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of the use and maintenance of equipment specific to CT and X-ray.
• Knowledge of the safety practices relative to radiation safety, hazardous material and infection control policies.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, sterile technique and patient positioning techniques specific to CT and X-ray.
• Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and/or lifting of patients/equipment (100+/- lbs.)

Responsibilities

• Select proper technical factors for study then perform and complete diagnostic CT examinations accurately.
• Possess sound and thorough operational knowledge of the CT scanner, pressure injector, resuscitation equipment, laser filmer, and teleradiology system.
• Assist in the administration of contrast media and other related procedures.
• Prepare, transfer and position patients and ensure modesty and safety.
• Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam and obtain informed consent.
• Obtain high-quality CT images suitable for interpretation.
• Stay proficient with software protocols and pursue ongoing education.
• Maintain proactive communication with patient and radiologist.
• Check equipment operation and cleanliness to prevent cross-contamination; stock supplies.
• Accept on-call and call-back responsibilities as needed to provide optimum patient care.

Radiologic Technology program (AMA-approved)

ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications

Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
