Job summary

Medical City Decatur is seeking a Certified Obstetric Surgical Technologist (CST) for PRN opportunities in Labor and Delivery. You will prepare the surgical suite, assist during obstetric procedures, and ensure sterile technique while supporting a collaborative team focused on safe newborn care.

You’ll work closely with obstetric surgeons, provide instrument support, and participate in training and mentorship with predictable on-call scheduling.

Qualifications

• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required.
• Graduation from a vocational school or equivalent work experience accepted.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical suite and organize instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping for obstetric procedures.
• Provide instruments and hands-on support to the surgical team during procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field, perform counts, verify instrument/function integrity.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver patient-centered obstetric care.
