Job summary

St. Mary-Corwin, part of CommonSpirit Health, seeks a PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide a continuum of care for patients with neuromuscular and orthopedic conditions under the supervision of a licensed OT.

You will perform strengthening, modalities, manual therapy and neuroreeducation while focusing on activities of daily living. Responsibilities include documenting, program development, teaching and ongoing professional development, with communication to the supervising OT

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, Department of Regulatory Agencies.
• BLS, American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Carries out program of corrective treatments for assigned patients under supervision.
• Implements therapy activities with measurable goals and time frames.
• Performs ADL retraining, home safety education, adaptive equipment and therapeutic exercises.
• Carries out plan of care within the COTA scope of practice.
• Communicates with supervising OT regarding patient status and treatment modifications.
• Documents per department guidelines using correct terminology.
