Job summary

Virginia Department of Corrections is seeking a Registered Nurse (PRN) at Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women. The position offers a temporary enhanced hourly rate to address staffing needs, with a wage-based schedule and no state benefits for wage employees.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia RN license
• Working knowledge of professional nursing principles and practices

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within adult institutions using nursing process
• Deliver 24/7 nursing coverage including telemedicine, chronic care, triage, medication administration and patient education
• Document health information accurately and maintain confidentiality
• Assign and adjust workloads and schedules to meet institutional needs
• Support evidence-based nursing and ongoing certification in correctional nursing
