Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management seeks a dedicated Nursing Assistant to provide basic bedside care under a licensed nurse's supervision. You will assist with bathing, grooming, hygiene, mobility, and following procedures as explained to residents.

You will communicate clearly with residents and staff, and maintain reading/writing accuracy while complying with Nurse Aide Training and Registry standards.

Qualifications

• State-approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program completed and name on State Registry as Nurse Aide in good standing.
• Ability to communicate with residents and nursing staff.
• Ability to read and write clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, grooming, hygiene and placement of adaptive equipment.
• Provide basic nursing care under the direction of a licensed nurse supervisor.
• Participate in nursing reports and follow instructions for duties.
• Keep residents dry and comfortable (change gown, clothing, and linens as needed).
• Make occupied and unoccupied beds and ensure linens are wrinkle-free.
• Explain procedures to residents before administering care.

Job description

Objective

Provides basic nursing care to residents within the scope of the nursing assistant responsibilities and performs basic nursing procedures under the direction of the licensed nurse supervisor.

Principal Responsibilities

• Participates in and receives nursing report upon reporting for duty
• Assists residents with resident care including bathing, grooming, hygiene and placement of adaptive equipment
• Explains procedures to residents before administering
• Keeps residents dry (changes gown, clothing, linen, etc., when it becomes wet or soiled)
• Changes bed linens and keeps linens tight to avoid wrinkles from forming under residents
• Makes beds (occupied and unoccupied)

Qualifications

• Successful completion of State Approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; Name must appear on State Registry as Nurse Aide in good standing; Ability to communicate with residents and nursing staff; Must have the ability to read and write.
• Prior experience as Nurse Aide preferred but not required
