Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our team in Tampa, FL as a PRN position. You will determine specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex procedures, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure accurate results supporting patient care.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's in a chemical/biological science and a Hematology MT FL license; ASCP/AMT certification is preferred. The role emphasizes precision, teamwork, and compliance with SOPs in a high-volume lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological science.
• Hematology MT FL License.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
