Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist PRN to perform routine diagnostic testing in the Pathology Lab. Work involves handling specimens, operating instruments, and recording results under supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or Bachelor’s degree with required science coursework.
• 0–3 years of laboratory experience.
• Certification preferred: ASCP, AMT, AABB, NASKL, ASCLS, HHS, ASHI, AAB, ABB, AMS, CRP, EBPH, Military or NILA.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived and nonwaived laboratory testing per policies.
• Adhere to hospital and lab safety policies including PPE usage.
• Participate in performance improvement and regulatory compliance.
• Support quality monitoring, auditing, and incident documentation.
• Process and prepare specimens, ensuring proper labeling and tracking.
• Document results and patient demographics in the lab system.
• Identify and communicate potential testing issues to the team.
• Maintain instrument calibration, maintenance, and records.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and competency assessments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
