Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking a PRN Chaplain to provide compassionate spiritual care to patients, families, and team members in Lakeland and the surrounding Orlando area. The role collaborates with physicians, nurses, social workers, and the multidisciplinary care team to address religious and emotional needs during illness, crisis, or end-of-life situations.

Qualifications

• Master level theological degree is required, with a Master of Divinity preferred.
• Accreditation by the Association of Theological Schools preferred or listing in DAPIP.
• Four (4) units of CPE for full-time, two (2) units for part-time, one (1) unit for pool; units must be ACPE/APC/NACC/NAJC/CPSP/CPE-I/ICPT recognized.

Responsibilities

• Requires direct access to Protected Health Information (PHI) as part of patient care.
• Documents spiritual interventions and follow-up plans in the patient chart.
• Participates in interdisciplinary rounds, ethics consultations, and advance directive discussions.
• Provides crisis intervention and bereavement support for those experiencing suffering or loss.
• Performs sacramental services or arranges for them through community clergy.
• Maintains regular attendance and compliance with Orlando Health policies.
