Job summary

Stone Oak Surgicenter, part of the HCA Healthcare family, seeks a PRN Certified Surgical Tech to assist in the operating room under RN supervision. The role involves direct patient care, scrubbing, and supporting the surgeon throughout procedures.

You will ensure aseptic technique, prepare the suite, and help turnover between cases while documenting clinical data and collaborating with the RN for safe, effective care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (preferred).
• Surgical Tech Certification.
• One year experience in an operating room setting ( ambulatory surgery center preferred ).
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program as required per facility practice.
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (Online certification not acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate necessary practical, technical, or specialized skills for the role of the surgical technician in accordance with the Association of Surgical Technologists.
• Assist in preparing the operative suite for surgery by checking and gathering supplies, equipment, and instruments.
• Ensure that surgical asepsis is maintained in the handling of instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressings.
• Assist in the turnover of operating room suites between cases, dispose of trash and linens, and clean equipment and environmental surfaces.
• Prepare procedure room for use the following day by bringing in equipment, setting up, and reporting to supervisor items that are needed and not available.
