Department: Inpatient Pharmacy
Hours: PRN, 1 Hour/Weekly
Shift: Varies Shift

UC Health is hiring a PRN Certified Pharmacy Technician for the Inpatient Pharmacy Department at the Daniel Drake Center for Post-Acute Care.

Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and managing patient records. They work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and do not perform duties that only a pharmacist can legally do. Pharmacy Technician I demonstrates basic skills, while Technician II shows higher initiative, motivation, and specialization within the department.

Daniel Drake Center provides post-acute and transitional care services, including inpatient and outpatient care such as complex wound care, skilled nursing, assisted living, and research. It helps patients recover from severe injuries and illnesses like multi-system organ failure, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injury.

As the only hospital-based skilled nursing facility in Cincinnati, it offers services like 24/7 physician coverage, pharmacy, diagnostic imaging, wound care, and specialist consulting, enabling quick responses to complex patient needs.

Qualifications

  • Education: Recently certified, licensed, or graduated within the past 12 months; 3-5 years of equivalent experience preferred.
  • License and Certification: Current pharmacy technician registration and Ohio State Board of Pharmacy certification.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Attention to detail, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving, emergency response, effective communication, and ability to meet patient care needs.

The starting salary range is $19.42/hr. to $24.01/hr., depending on experience, skills, and internal factors.
