Job summary

Inova Health is seeking a dedicated Cardiac Sonographer 2 for our Fairfax Medical Campus Echo Lab. This PRN role emphasizes clinical excellence, education, innovation, and research within a nationally accredited program.

You will work with updated Philips equipment and participate in ongoing clinical ladder development while contributing to award‑winning programs and patient care in Northern Virginia.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program or equivalent.
• ARDMS RDCS certification or CCI RCS certification for Echo, or ARDMS RVT/CCI RVS for vascular.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Recognize clinical or emergent problems and take action to resolve them while ensuring optimal exam outcomes and patient satisfaction.
• Perform IV contrast or other test-enhancing solutions per Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography standards.
• Identify patients and orders accurately to prevent mismatched studies and attend at least 50% of QA conferences.
• Ensure patient safety through use of side rails, braking mechanisms, and monitoring; report any adverse conditions.
• Maintain equipment by troubleshooting and performing routine maintenance to preserve image quality.
