Job summary

Inova Health System's Fairfax Echo Lab is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer 1 to join the team on a full-time day shift, Monday through Friday. The role offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance, with opportunities to teach fellows and students and participate in a clinical ladder.

You will work with an updated Philips imaging fleet, including 3D and strain imaging capabilities, in a nationally accredited lab committed to safety, education, innovation, and research at the Inova Fairfax

Qualifications

• BLS certification required at start.
• RDCS or equivalent ARDMS certification, or eligible with 1-year deadline to obtain.
• Recent hospital/healthcare sonography experience preferred; education from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients to obtain history and consent to aid examination.
• Explains procedures to patients and answers questions to reduce anxiety.
• Assists physicians in performing exams using standard protocols and sterile technique.
• Recognizes emergent issues and takes appropriate action to ensure optimal outcomes.

Inova Pediatrics | Cardiac Sonographer 1 | Full-Time Days Shift: Monday - Friday | Sign-on Bonus & Relocation Available

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus - Adult Echo Lab is looking for a dedicated Cardiac Sonographer 2 to join the Inova Fairfax Medical Center Echo Lab is an advanced echo imagining center with a strong emphasis on clinical excellence, education, innovation, and research. Our lab is nationally accredited through the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission and is comprised of over 22 sonographers and 25 physicians who support our award-winning clinical programs and hospital.

The lab has a full fleet of updated Philips machines with advanced 3D and strain imaging technology available and offers regular educational opportunities to assist in developing your knowledge and skill set. Cardiovascular Sonographers also teach cardiology fellows and sonography students. Career development is offered through a clinical ladder.

This role will be a Full Time Day Shift, Monday - Friday. Sign-on Bonus & Relocation assistance eligible.

Cardiac Sonographer 1 Job Responsibilities:

• Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history/informed consent from patients or patients' charts to assist the physician in optimizing the performance and interpretation of the examination, as evidenced by the exam results.
• Explains procedure to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety while assuring patients cooperation, as evidence by customer satisfaction.
• Assists the physician in performing a variety of examinations using standard department protocols, isolation precautions and/or sterile technique, as evidenced by Radiologist's satisfaction.
• Demonstrates the ability to recognize clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and takes appropriate action to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcome, as evidence by exam results and patient satisfaction.

Cardiac Sonographer 1 Additional Requirements:

• Certification - Basic Life Support upon start; Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer ARDMS Registered with RDCS Certification or CCI Registered with certification for Vascular or Registry eligible and must obtain within one year; RCS Certification for Echo, or ARDMS with RVT or CCI with the RVS within one year of hire
• Licensure - None required
• Experience - Recent experience in a hospital/healthcare environment as a sonographer or sonographer student.
• Education - Other Sonography Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical, setting., sonography or five years specialized training in a hospital/healthcare.
